Whats happened to rock n roll ?

whenever you see a list of genres of music, you very rarely see rock n roll listed..why is this ?

didnt rock n roll start everything ?

why has rock n roll been demoted so ungracefully ?

It's all about rap now.

I think Country people, still talk about rock and roll

Rock and Roll had it's roots in "Negro" Spirituals and work music. The blues came out a peoples sorrows and burdens and forced alienation. Since music is a universal language, "The Blues" was picked up by musicians of various backgrounds. From the Blues to Honky-Tonk to Jive to Swing to Rock and Roll and much much more. Go back to music of the '30's, 40's and 50's. It is a wonderful foundation for the explosion of genre's we hear today. Once "Rap" came in, I went back to my Golden Oldies and my first love Classical music. Now, all you young people out there, don't get mad at me. We have an almost fanatical attachment to our music. so why aint there no genre for finding rock n roll music on most music sites ?
