My entire financial education in school consisted of learning how to write a check. I just learned that only 3(!) states in the US require a financial curriculum in high school. This baffles me, given that no one escapes the economy.

What did you learn about finance in school?

how to write a check and manage a personal checking account (with examples where the income exceeded the bills easily.)

When I was in High School, we were taught to save up for future use.

Oddly enough my high school education taught me nothing about money. All I know about it is self-taught. I don´t know why this was, but the subject of economics never came up. Very strange.

I learned that $10 would get me a dime bag of pot, and $5 would get me a nickel bag of pot.

No wonder kids don't understand finance now, $10 gets you almost no pot at all, and there's no such thing as a dime bag any more.

Absolutely nothing, acually we did the occassional maths class but that was to count it, count out correct change and that was pretty much it.

We were taught absolutely nothing but I've heard they're bringing it in to schools a lot more these days, I think it's a great idea to teach children in schools about money - obviously keeping it to their level of understanding though...

We used money a lot in learning maths.

Gas bills for algebra, foreign exchange and interest rates and mortgages.

I never learned how to write a cheque or what an overdraft was but i knew about interest on loans and credit cards.

Wow. We had an entire business/finance class that was mandatory. We covered all the basics from checking accounts to how credit cards and bank loans work to 401k's to stocks and investments.

It was all boring as s***, but quite useful. I had always assumed that it was a part of everyone's high school curriculum.

I didn't take business courses in high school as you had to join some stupid club if you did, so maybe they were taught in there
