I am a born again christian. But I am not one that forces people. My husband and I went to this church . It was a born again church. We had to sit and listen for hours. Until the preacher would let us go. And if we fell asleep she come over and bind us. Asking the devil to come out of us. I left that church.

atheist with deitism leanings

I believe there probably was a creator, but he does not love us or watch over us, if he even still exists. There is no proof in God and the bible is so full of inaccuraces and inconsistencies it makes me laugh. I hope there is an afterlife, but I am not holding my breath.

I dislike organized religion, but looking and trying to find answers is always good. Cutting yourself off from an idea is being ignorant, verging on stupid.

My religion is one of thought and open-mindedness. I see all that I see, and I incorporate it all.

So, what's an inaccuracy or inconsistency in the bible? Can you tell me one or two, and explain them? I've been debating with a friend.

Rather than retyping any here I am going to give you a couple of links to my source. It is a great site called The Skeptics Annotated Bible.

1. Different creation stories:

2.Is it wrong to drink alcohol?

3.How did David kill Goliath?

4.Who was Joseph's father?

5.How many sons did Abraham have?

These are a few examples there are a whole lot more. And before any of you tell me that just because some facts in the bible are wrong does not mean God doesn't exist. Save it. I don't care.

If you care to or want to learn more about what is wrong with the bible, because actually these inaccuracies don't bother me as much as other things. Check out these web sites: The Skeptics Annotated Bible or Evil Bible.com

I was brought up in a protestant/methodist home now I choose not to follow a religion, but respect others views, my partner is a non practising Catholic, my mum converted to become a catholic. I have friends who are buddhist, muslim and spiritualist. To me it makes not one iota of difference. I believe in today as I dont know what is going to happen tomorrow. As for God who really knows? I asked our local vicar once, "if God created heaven and earth who created him?" He had no answer.

I believe in God, and in Jesus. I believe in a frame of mind that we should love the world around us with eyes not blinded by hate, jealousy, or fear.
What I don't believe in is a building, I don't believe in a group. In other words I don't believe you have to go to a church and accept everything that someone is saying. Often times all they are trying to do is make you hate, make you jealous, and make you scared, and I don't agree with that. I don't believe in throwing beliefs into people's faces. I think that actions speak louder than words, but that what we say can also be our actions. It's what we claim to be that can't mean anything until we prove it.
