There's a ton of pages, so I don't know if anyone has mentioned it. But holding Alt and then pressing print screen takes a picture of your active window instead of the whole screen (for example, if you alt+print screen while using MSN, it will only take a picture of MSN). Saves time if you're cutting certain windows out of a full window.

May be worth putting in the OP, no idea

PC users only! I don't know how to do it with macs.

**edit:

Thanks whiter_light

I love the print screen button. A lot of people don't know what it is/how to use it though. It's not that hard!

The print screen button on your keyboard is a handy little tool. It allows you to copy whatever is showing up on your screen, whether it be your desktop, something online, etc.

Press the button to the right of the the F12 button on your keyboard. It should say "Print Scrn" and under it might say "Sys Rq"

When you press this, nothing will happen. It's similar to copying text using the ctrl+c. Except here, you're "copying" your screen. Nothing will show up until you paste it somewhere.

Open up a paint program of some sort (if you're using Windows the Paint program should be fine) and paste it into the blank screen. Then crop the image so it just shows what you want it to show

How do I copy the screen to paste it somewhere?

To copy the screen or what you see,
press the prntscrn on your keyboard

and open paint or some photo editing software and edit paste...
if you're lucky, you may be also able to do paste in words (but saving as image there will be a pain). In photo programs, saving as an image is fine.

BUT prntscrn will only capture WHAT YOU SEE on screen.
FOr my works, to also copy EVERYTHING on a screen form top to bottom (say there are scrollings needed), I use https://pearlcrescent.com/products/pagesaver/. It capture and AUTO save the image as image format. No pasting required. CON: since it is everything from top to obttom + scrolled pages, to get something you need to edit it or crop.

it is a magick button to copy your screen area to clipboard.
Press it, and then go to photo/picture editor, and then click paste.

Is a key present on most PC keyboards. It is typically situates in the same section as the break key and scroll lock key. The print screen may share the same key as system request.
You can use this in a certain informations or images that you need to print in easiest way.
