Of course, the fact that content is user-generated and not controlled completely by the media platform means that the only way in which a platform could comply with any sort of standards or ratings system would be with the ability to separate or outright remove people from the rest of their ecosystem. Which requires curation. Which gets us right back to the situation we have already, (especially the self-regulated part), where we have companies self-curating their own ecosystems.

It took a world pandemic for Congress to loosen the rules of the last presidential election and maximize opportunities for voting irregularities which resulted in a Biden presidency. Even the most loyal party Democrats are anticipating the GOP to make gains in the mid-terms.

What I've argued is what they're arguing. Calls for social media reform are not going away. Get ready.

voting irregularities which resulted in a Biden presidency.

Clear and specific examples?

Two please.

@Na Said

Even the most loyal party Democrats are anticipating the GOP to make gains in the mid-terms.

Which is a common occurrence, for the opposing party of an incumbent President to make such gains two years later. Been that way for several decades.

I think the House will indeed switch hands - all the new voter restrictions will ensure that. But the Senate has a better chance of staying under Democratic leadership thanks to the sheer number of GOP open seats compared to DNC open seats.

What will definitely help Democrats is Trump continuing to be the face of the GOP. So please continue to keep him relevant.

No, what you’re arguing is forcing a private media company to allow certain kinds of speech, against its will.

The proposed legislation only has to do with anti-competitive monopolistic business practices, like Bell in the 80’s, Microsoft in the 90’s.

Two different things entirely. It is the GOP that wants to include both in the same bill. Which means they will likely filibuster it and destroy any chance of it passing, like they do anything else the’ve touched in the past decade or so.

Isn't "Delta Variant" short for Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) DeSantis Variant?

Maybe they/we should be calling it the Florida Flu.

Oh, I'm aware. The only thing I've been saying, after all, is that the situation the Right currently finds itself in is at least partially it's own fault, and that they seem perfectly content in blaming everyone else for it. Especially when they've been enjoying the 'perks' of it all this time until now.

What does the Republican Party stand for?

In my opinion, and elected official of the Republican Party ought to have his personal house in order. It's better if they're not divorced (shame of Reagan shame on Trump) and their children are well mannered. What's wrong with George W Bush and his poor handling his two daughters?

Of course if an elected official of the Republican Party cheats on his wife or molests women (anyone really), he needs to be removed from office.

Governor Cuomo can stay right where he's at because he's not Republican and "love is Love" or whatever. It's hard to fail when there aren't any standards eh?

I guess that's why we're talking about Republicans and not Democrats. We already know the Democrats are only about power and don't really stand for anything, so what's the point?

> a strong national defense

So Donald Trump should not hold office then, right?

FYI, Biden said Cuomo needs to resign.

Don’t confuse your religion with morality. One can often be exclusive of the other, which has been demonstrated ad nauseam.

Sure…

…unless that Republican has cheated on all three of his wives (and has publicly admitted it) and has s history of bragging about molesting women, in which case you elect him, ignore all facts, and claim he is the greatest president ever.

Served right on a platter for us.

The Cuomo excitement must have afflicted temporary amnesia on that one.
