What do others think of this idea?

I was reading an article online about the population problem in China, where people can only have one child, so many abort girls because they want a boy.
The article suggested that a "better" approach is to castrate 50% of the boys before the age of 10. She said this would go much further to control the population.
While she acknowledged that in some areas, the castration would probably not be done in a medical facility and could be done rather crudely, she maintains that it is a good idea.

Would such an idea work? Do you think it should be done?

That is absolutely not a good idea! Why should they deny half of China's male population the right to have children?

What?! Are you serious? If so, it figures that idea would come from a woman. I rather be dead than castrated, so no the idea is absolutely ludicrous. I'm sure it would start riots and possibly a revolt.

This is such a fundamental breach of human rights it beggars belief. It defies debate because anyone who cannot see why it is wrong is obviously a sociopath devoid of compassion or even logical reasoning. There would be no point debating them.

even if you castrated 50% of the boys/men then that does not mean the ones that can still have babies are going to have going to only produce boys. so the abortions will keep going on..... tis a dumb idea IMO.

I think you would have to be nuts to think that thats a good idea. geez there are some freaks out there.
