So I've been sick on and off again for 2 weeks. It started with a cough, and then the next day I had flu like symptoms, swollen lymph nodes and a fever. Then, the day after that I had an ear infection.. the next day, an eye infection! And then when all of that finally subsided, I've been left with a cough and sore throat. About the same time I contracted this, my friend and her family got it as well. All of them had a cough with flu like symptoms, followed by ear infections or eye infections. And we are all still left with symptoms of some sort 2 weeks later. Every morning I still have a sore throat and I'm still coughing occasionally, but then it goes away for the rest of the day. My friend is going to go to the doctor this week, but I'm really curious...what on earth do we have??

The only way you can find out for sure is by going to a doctor or GP.

I'm pretty sure it's not h1n1. The symptoms don't line up at all. I think it's an upper respiratory tract infection, but I figured people who are into medicine on here would have an idea.

sounds like URI. upper respiratory infection.
i had something really similar to that not to long ago, that all started from a cut in my mouth. I didn't have an ear infection though.
Go to the doctor. they'll probably give you a z-pack

Well then just go to a doctor. Money is nice, but good health is nicer.

Could be walking pnuemonia; or something worse. You should really see a doctor.

A friend of mine had most of those symptoms since around Halloween. Saw a doctor from go, been treated with antibiotics, and still not quite over it.

Seriously, since when does anybody have a medical degree on here. If you have a medical problem see a specialist don't ask advice from a bunch of bloggers

Well yes but you never seem to actually think about what you're saying on here, especially when it comes to things like this. Yes nobody on here is a professional but saying stuff like the OP may have aids is a little unnecessary don't you think? If you don't want to contribute to a thread where someone is genuinely asking for help, then you don't have to post any silly comments like that, it helps nobody and makes you seem foolish.

That's the point--what if and only what if--somebody told her/him that they had it and recovered in two months---and she was really sick with something and she got really worse--giving an obsurd response just might force her to get the proper medical care. Yes I may be foolish but it took me 6 years of college full time to become such a fool.
