This is inspired by some posts that cropped up in Kristy's thread.

What are you doing this year on Christmas Eve?

Are you breaking with tradition, starting one of your own, working or just doing anything?

Also, what do you think about the day or eve itself in general?

I thought it would be nice to see what everyone's up to and see if there are any differences between countries. I know that Europeans generally treat Christmas Eve as more important almost than Christmas day as that's when they have the proper christmas meal.

Doing the traditional supper and unwrapping some presents at my mom's with my aunt and 2 cousins. We stay up late and have a sleepover at my mom's and start all over again in the morning with food and more pressies.

I'm going for drinks with my friends. And hopefully I'm going to be avoiding getting spiked like last year, to this day my mum still thinks I was just trolleyed beyond belief

It depends on the weather, if the roads are ok then a few friends will come over, we'll have some food, exchange presents and watch a film. If the roads are s*** I'll be going to my parents and then probably go the pub.

Going out round town with something like 50 people. Should be a good laugh and hopefully give me an appetite for Christmas lunch.

Working then popping down to the local for a couple of pints.

We have a really nice pub near my house which is lovely in the winter and really cosy. We all went last year and it was great so we are doing it again.

Been invited round for drinks by my Aunt as well so may pop over depending on how long I stay in the pub for.

I'm going to cathedral for 9 lessons and carols (it's my own personal tradition), then watching whatever rubbish is on TV. We also get to open one present before bed.

Hubby and I will probably sitting down with the kids to watch some Christmas movies and doing crafts with them.

If the kids haven't made the Gingerbread house in the next day or two, they will Christmas Eve.

My parents might stop in, but not sure since they are 30min out of town and it depends on the weather.

Not sure if the in-laws will be here Christmas Eve, but they will be here Christmas morning.

I'm also delaying putting up the Christmas tree probably until the 23rd or 24th. Otherwise our cat will have it torn apart in no time.

Generally, have supper with the folks on Christmas Eve. In the past have then met up with friends for drinks afterwards but am not sure of the plans this year. Probably just go home and early to bed.

Nothing ,
The first week after christmas when all the left over stuff is dirt cheap , I go get next years gifts for the 3 grandkids. I wrap them about the middle of December give them to mom and dad to put under their tree.
Then I am done for the holidays.
