I'm confused. This Holy War which is being prepared (or REALIZED) by the European Union which is putting the Euro-zone, which is a real place of main street type dealing and trading), into absolutely financial debt: is seemingly Unstopable with Iran and it's neighborly (next to Israel) cousins.

Was the holy war in the middle ages similarly unstopable, or after-all It was an wtempt at getting Palestine back to the decisive and economic control of the kingdoms of England, France, Teutonic knights, and Spain?

Nothing is unstoppable and no war was predetermined by God.

"Holy wars" are fought over men's perceptions of their gods, which some would argue is the same thing as god and some would argue isn't the same.

The atheist's answer would be more obvious of course.

So it depends on who you ask.

Well then why would the Christians call a War 'holy'? That'll end it. I guess it's like calling something with a saint. One could give it a "war on drugs" per "when the saints come marchin' in."

Because, as I said, they are fought over people's perceptions of gods.

So called Holy Wars are fought over the same thing most wars are fought over. The people in power want either territory or money or both.
It's always the common people who get sacrificed in these wars.

Every religion wants power, its a threat to religious freedom.
Hence the reason of having church and state being seporate.

It promotes a secluar government, and creates democratic government in the Western World, but some religions want to be the dominant religion and want to have a government run by them, which is wrong because there is many faiths in the world today.

It has been proven in Australia in the last 110 years since 1901 and in Amercia since 1776, that a secluar government is the way to go, because why it promotes religious freedom, and Holy Wars are just about nearly elimnated, if it happend in Australia they probably be jailed.

Muslims want to take control of Australia but the Govt is not letting them.

If church and state becomes united it causes many problems, like if one faith becomes dominat the other faiths get stepped on like a pancake which to me is wrong.

Every one deserves Equal Rights no matter what religion and Australia has all these in place since 1977, revised in 1995 and last year in 2010, making it more and more tight.

What happend in the middle ages in Europe, very unpleasent we don't want to go back to that.

SO the jews knowing what this or that POWER was or is, are pointed out as ultimately responsible for all religions' holy wars . But really what I'm saying here is that it is a matter of fact that the Jews are just the symbolic defining for What Power was thought in the worldly sense. <makes me right> but those cheaky environmental paintings of the nineties are referring to the Jews as scape goated for explaining this superstitious power over the ecology of the world. No matter what we do, nature gets back at us for what we've done to the Jews.

I love the parts in "Kingdom of Heaven",they all scream "It's God's will" and go into battle.

The Holy Wars back in those times is no different to what we see happening today all over the world and even here on TFS,we have those mindless idiots who for reasons known only to them feel it's their right to shove their version of their religion down everybody else's throats.

God or if there actually is one,had nothing to do with anything in any war other than what some mindless fool thought he did,it's all been about US,we stand up for what we believe in like little kids in the play ground of your local school.
My religion is better than yours, and so it goes on,the only difference today is we have guns and bombs to prove ours is better than yours, rather than swords and spears of yester years. And just what is it we've proven??Sweet f*** All,other than we're just as stupid today as they were back then.

Did God cause the Holy Wars??? No it was man who started it,and his belief's,be they right or wrong.
