Why do you think Christians and Gnostic Christians wrote their myths?
Try thinking it was just for talking points when everyone knew they were discussing imaginary concepts.
Listen close to this first link as well as the last one.
I hope you can see how intelligent the ancients were as compared to the mental efforts that modern preachers and theists are using with the literal reading of myths.

Rabbi Hillel, the older contemporary of Jesus, said that when asked to sum up the whole of Jewish teaching, while he stood on one leg, said, "The Golden Rule. That which is hateful to you, do not do to your neighbor. That is the Torah. And everything else is only commentary. Now, go and study it."
Please listen as to what is said about the literal reading of myths.
"Origen, the great second or third century Greek commentator on the Bible said that it is absolutely impossible to take these texts literally. You simply cannot do so. And he said, "God has put these sort of conundrums and paradoxes in so that we are forced to seek a deeper meaning."
Matt 7;12 So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.
This is how early Gnostic Christians view the transition from reading myths properly to destructive literal reading and idol worship.

first thing, you tube about jesus. it played about a guy talking about technology. not jesus. i was suppose subscript something to hear this?
second, i was being a jew, i try to show compassion to fellow human beings. no matters, what a religion, or race you are or in. when you see i see a human being. period. i only judge the personality and the person's motives. mainly my instincts.
when i was a kid, my rabbi told that jewish people had a one god, never prayed to idols.
the golden rule, i was taught in school and my religion. i think has more common sense to follow not one certain religion. mean everybody deserve the golden rule.
i have seen the first one video, after the the second one. i was stuck read transcript, i got bored third of it, and quit read.
i thought when i was young in temple , what my rabbi and sunday teachers told tales from the bible. i thought they were fairy tales , in many ways, i still do.
now, i know the bible has deep meanings, you read lines in it, maybe you get the drift what it is talking. many ways, i don't read the bible because to me sound more fairy tales and myths to believe.
i do believe there is science is in the bible, i can't answer. whether or not, there is supernatural in the bible. i would rather have science tell if a fact or a myth.
