Rep. Mac Thornberry on Monday became the sixth Texas Republican to announce plans to head for the exits of Capitol Hill, saying in a statement that he will not seek reelection in 2020.

There should be enough of them now to do an Aerosmith cover:

Given that statistics can be used to say whatever you want, looks like the "walk away" was from the Reps.

2016 Exit Polls vs 2018 exit polls:

Young voters (18-29)= D 55% R 36%
Young voters (18-29)= D 67%
D 12% gain vs R 32% down 4%... Reps voters walked away.

Black voters= D 89% R 8%
Black voters= D 90% R 9%
D 1% gain vs Rep 1% loss… Rep voters walked away.

Latino voters= D 66% R 28%
Latino voters= D 69% R 29%
Dem 3% gain vs R 1% loss… Rep voters walked away.

Asian voters= D 65% R 27%
Asian voters= D 77% R 23%
Dem 12% gain vs R 4% loss… Rep voters walked way.

College graduates= D 52% R 42%
College graduates= D 59% R 39%
Dem 7% gain vs R 3% loss… Rep voters walked away.

Urban (34% of total)= D 60% R 34%
Urban (32% of total)= D 65% R 32%
Dem 2% gain vs R 2% loss… Rep voters walked away.

Rural (17% of total)= D 34% R 61%
Rural (17% of total)= D 42% R 56%
Dem 8% gain vs R 5% loss… Rep voters walked away.

Suburban (49% of total)= D 45% R 49%
Suburban (51% of total): D 49% R 49%

OH!!! There it is…

But wait!

While Reps didn’t walk away, Dems gained…

I keep wondering whatever happened to the great "#justwalkaway" movement that allegedly had Dem in a massive exodus.

Chris Collins, a New York Republican congressman until his resignation on Monday, pleaded guilty Tuesday in an insider trading case in federal court after having spent more than a year saying the allegations against him were "meritless" and winning reelection while under indictment.

Not sure if this qualifies as a "walk away" ....
