Vista network problems/IE

So, I have this weird problem with IE on Vista Home Premium SP1 64bit.

Most the time when I open IE, or another Microsoft thing that uses web browsing such as Microsoft Money, it can't connect to the internet. I never have a problem with Opera, Firefox, Chrome etc connecting when I open them. It usually takes 3-4 tries before IE will connect.

I had the problem with IE7 and now IE8.

Anyone else experience this or have a solution for it?

Is this like msn? where it will only use IE, and never what you have has your default browser?

Eerrrrrrrmmmmmmmm, don't use that either? Or uninstall it and then reinstall or perform a complete reformat?

Hmm.. well I'll try removing & reinstalling IE.

Yeah you could do that, that was obviously going to be my next suggestion.
But last time I tried to uninstall IE it wouldn't let me because it was a "windows component". Haven't checked it again after installing IE8 though.

Hmmmmmmmmm strange, try resetting the router? Don't actually know how that will help but hey, worth a try.

Downgraded to IE7 and so far so good

Remove it and leave it off your computer. I don't care what they say, it's monitoring your browsing habits. I strongly encourage you to use Mozilla? Firefox?.

I dont' really care if it monitors my browsing habits.

I use Opera for most things anyway, but I have to test things using IE occasionally.
