My predicted end of season ladder for 2019
1. Richmond
2. West Coast
3. Melbourne
4. C'wood
5. Adelaide
6. GWS
7. Essendon
8. Hawthorn
9. Geelong
10. Brisbane
11. Sydney
12. North Melbourne
13. Port Adelaide
14. Fremantle
15. Footscray
16. St.Kilda
17. Carlton
18. Gold Coast
I would say that only the bottom three are no chance of making the eight.
Adelaide and Brisbane to be the big improvers.
Well I was right in saying that St.Kilda, Carlton and Gold Coast were no chance of making the finals, though that was hardly a big call. I was also right to pick Brissie as a big improver (though I didnt come close to predicting just how much they would improve, but who did?). I did however get Adelaide wrong. Their 2nd half of the season was pretty poor. I also got Geelong very wrong. Their recruits over the summer all had a big impact and Gazza has been very good playing predominately in the forward line. I also underestimated Footscray. At the end of round 14 the dogs were 15th but their finish to the season was very strong. The other team I got (very) wrong was Melbourne. Who the hell would have predicted them to finish 2nd last?
Anyway the ladder finished up as...
1. Geelong (9)
2. Brisbane (10)
3. Richmond (2)
4. C'wood (4)
5. West Coast (2)
6. GWS (6)
7. Footscray (15)
8. Essendon (7)
9. Hawthorn (8)
10. Port Adeliade (13)
11. Adelaide (5)
12. North Melbourne (12)
13. Fremantle (14)
14. St.Kilda (16)
15. Sydney (11)
16. Carlton (17)
17. Melbourne (3)
18. Gold Coast (18)
