Well as good as the cats were the dees were very poor...esp going into their forward 50. I think the dees are too good not to make the finals but they need to get their act together pretty quickly.

Meanwhile West Coast quickly found form and smashed GWS in Perth.

I thought Brissie would be one of the big improvers this season and toyed with having them in my final 8. So far they have been very impressive. We know they will be hard to beat at the Gabba but the way they demolished the reigning premiers was very impressive. Perhaps even more impressive however was the way they ran over the shinboners away from home.

Pressure is mounting at Richmond. Clearly they are becoming frustrated. No more so than Dusty.

A good win by the dons but the Dees zonal defence was a shambles. Hard to understand why it is currently such a mes when it looked pretty decent last year.

Brissie's great start to the season continues. I had them just missing the eight. It's still very early doors but I reckon they will make the eight. Certainly on their current form.

C'wood's midfield looks very good but the Weagles were a class above after quarter time. They seem even better than last season. Had forgotten how good Gaff is.

West Coast of course still have Nic Nat to come back but they look so balanced. They seem to have more depth in their midfield and a couple of the young kids have added a bit of extra run. Up forward Kennedy remains a quality forward whilst down back they are just so well organised.

The AFL really need to revisit the sliding rule. The way it sits currently is bloody ridiculous.

Gold Coast looking like causing an upset at Docklands. The suns currently lead the scraggers by 2 goals late in the last quarter. That would make it 2 wins from 3 for a team most thought would struggle to win more than 3-4 games for the year.

With Kurnow and McGovern both missing for the blues GC will start as firm favourites next week. So after round 4 the Suns could well be 3 from 4.

Lot of rules the AFL need to re-visit right now, this sudden obsession with wanting to pay free kicks for a little bit of behind the ball push and shove, no one knows why free kicks are getting paid.

Provided there is no clenched fist then low level contact around the chest area should not be a big deal.

The sliding rule needs to be urgently revisited whilst the holding the ball rule needs to go back to how it was before they introduced prior opportunity and 'reasonable attempt'. The inconsistency is so frustrating but I don't blame the umps as the rules are so subjective.

the 6-6-6 rule is annoying me too...more because teams that stuff it up are just given a warning and time to sort it out. How much time do you need? Also you just know one week they're just suddenly going to ping a team for it out of no where when the whole time it's just been a warning.
