I know a person 41 years old that voted for Trump. When I ask the simple question of Why did you vote for Trump ? His answer was " because he's a businessman and America needs to start making money " I ask him what about all Trumps bankruptcies, his response was , " huh ?
I ask him what about the 1500 or so breach of contract law suits against Trump brought by companies that had contracted to do jobs and when they went to collect Trump wouldn't pay up ? his response was "huh ?" What about his bogus university . " huh?"
By now I'm thinking maybe some people should be tied to their sofas on election day . One more for the hell of it. What did he think when Trump promised o build a wall and make Mexico pay for it, how can one country force another country into doing something with out first making war and winning that war on the other country ? "huh?"
Okay, lets say your closet neighbor has an apple tree, and has always grumbled but let it pass when your kids go over into their yard and take apples. But one day they say' NO MORE' zero tolerance. And their answer is that they are going to build a fence and you are going to foot the bill .He woke up then. He knows that it's a known fact that if I don't want the neighbors livestock , or kids or pets on my property I am responsible for building a fence . Then he looks confused and asks what's that got to do with what we were talking about ?
I'm wondering if maybe some people shouldn't be tied down to their sofas on election day .
Is it even conceivable to think that this is possible " everyone, every citizen, in the USA have an equal vote... one person - one vote?"
I s*** you not , I really did exchange these words with a 41 year old American voter.
I totally believe you, mostly because I've had very similar conversations.
Let me note that in my not even remotely humble opinion, the most important things to teach our children in school are: reading, writing, basic arithmetic and the constitution of the USA. In fact, I would put the Constitution of the USA before reading, writing and arithmetic (hey, our ancestors taught by word of mouth).
Simple rule: You do not get out of 3rd grade until you understand the basics of the Constitution (it really isn't that complicated)... and then every year after you MUST demonstrate a basic knowledge of our Constitution.... from 3rd grade until.... until whenever you end your education... I don't care if you are a medical student, real estate agent, plumber, brick layer... you NEVER advance in any way until you demonstrate a basic understanding of the Constitution.... over and over and over and over again.
So you might not even be able to read a menu and order "surf n turf" but you know exactly what it takes to repeal an amendment.... you might not be able to understand that 1 apple plus 1 apple = 2 apples, but you understand your 5th amendment rights.... etc... etc... etc...
