Reading in the news paper where it now says that possibly in 2013 Scondary school children will NOT be allowed to leave school until they are 18.

School leavers age to be raised

I think this is actually a good idea because being a school leaver myself i havent actually been able to get a decent payed job im either not old enough.. or i havent got the skills to.

Whats everyone else think?

i think its pretty pathetic how kids just wanna drop out of school and that i guess it must be a high percentage that they have to make it a law now.

i think its more about the goverment not wanting to pay benefits to anyone under 18.

i guess we're more lienant in canada. people who are like 30 can still go back to highschool as online courses and graduate still if they did drop out.

better to give kids a good and meaningful education before the get to 16 rather than try to force them to stay on until 18. some kids are never gonna understand quadratic equations so teach them the every day maths they need. instead of dealing with all kids at 13/14 as being the same accept that some kids will do better learning a skill rather than being taught a subject.

I have to admit, you do have to stick at what your doing in college and sixth form to get the grades.
My social life is good in college but there are days where i just think, oh god can i just drop out now.
Hopefully it will be worth it in the long run

I don't think it will make a huge difference there is a lot of kids that drop out illegally at like 15 anyways and the government doesn't do anything about it.

That absolutely sucks. What about kids who want an apprenticeship? Who are fed up with the school system? What the f*** are they supposed to do. The more people push for a more liberal government the more facist they seem to become which is really sad .
