Of course, this is true. The pandemic is not something Africa can handle on its own, especially when it is so fractured. A problem which transcends political boundaries can only be solved through a concerted effort, but Africa is politically broken as a continent. Other nations around the world will need to make sacrifices to lift Africa out of its dire state, and these sacrifices need not even be so drastic, then some kind of unity and cooperation on the issue of HIV/AIDS might be possible.
Yes I agree with you. I just don't think much progress will happen until the countries within Africa can lean on each other and work together. "But Africa is politically broken as a continent." This is the main thing i see wrong, the lack of collaboration between them. While I don't think they need to form into one big country, inter-country laws etc need to be made for them to rely on each other so that we can help the continent as whole instead of just one area. But its on political stage of turmoil too since many of the country leaders fear that they will loose their position if the let others in.

But the political corruption and turmoil is the most disheartening than anything else.
