You are right. There was no way in Hell I ever thought people would vote for Trump in 2016, but I was floored when he actually won. But what is even more amazing is that some people have watched him screw up everything for 4 years and they STILL support him !
What is really strange is that a lot of people who support him are not stupid people, I know a few of them and otherwise they are smart, nice people. They must see something in him that I do not.
Hi Don, sometimes simply a case of the alternatives. But again, some will be prepared to tolerate virtually anything if they think those things they support and wish for are more likely to be achieved.
We see that in the UK. Boris Johnson is a documented liar, a career long record of breaking promises, sacked twice for lying, and seeking to avoid scrutiny of his Deal with the EU, shut down Parliament, the heart if British Democracy - an act declared illegal by our Supreme Law Lords. Yet enough people who desire Brexit voted for his Party, the Party with the mantra "Get Brexit Done".
I also think that certain people are pleased to have obviously prejudiced, even uncouth people, as a leader simply because they then feel themselves "justified", no longer needing to feel that their baser instincts are reprehensible or need judgement.
