I would even take it a step farther and say that the members of a president's family, especially wives & children, should be viewed by the media as off limits... this should apply to all government officials.

Ivanka, Eric and Jr. on the other hand are fair game as they clearly have opened the door to media attention.

But yes... if "you" are part of an administration, "you" need to keep "your" mouth shut about many things... the 1st Family is at the top of the list... or "you" get fired.

Good definition.

Key phrase; “impairment of normal psychological function”

I would argue that mass murder is not a normal psychological function

Mass murderers come with a variety of motives.

Is the terrorist a psychopath, religious zealot doing god's work, or perhaps a freedom fighter?

Was President Truman, who directed the killing a tens of thousands of civilians, a mass murderer or a sober head of state making a hard choice? Were the zealots fighting to create a new Israel, who killed 91 people of various nationalities in a bombing in 1946, terrorists...? Mass murderers...? Freedom fighters...?

Is an individual, who in all other ways in his life is a "good" and "stable" man, but then chooses to bomb an abortion clinic to stop the "murder of innocent babies", mentally ill?

Is a "soldier" in the Mafia or MS-13, who guns down the "soldiers" of the competition, mentally ill...?

Some mass murderers are without a doubt mentally ill.

Some, I think, are not... some have chosen a cause that history will decide is good or bad... or whose "friends" will decide is good or bad...

Mental illness may or may not be applicable.
