Some months ago I was shouted at and hassled by a man while I was putting my little girl into her car seat as I was leaving the supermarket.
It was cold, raining and I was strapping her into her safety seat while another car was waiting to move into the parking space I was about to vacate. The driver of the other car first flashed his lights, then tooted and then wound his window down and shouted "Get a bloody move on, love."
Instant Grrrrrrrr...
I let him have it. Firstly, I'm not your "love" and secondly, I'll take as long as necessary to get my daughter safely into her seat. Please be patient. That told him. He wound his window back up and contented himself with giving me the death stare through his windscreen.
When I was done and got into my driving seat, I had a mind to spend several minutes fiddling around with my bag..... using the sun visor mirror to touch up my hair..... change the radio station.... just to annoy him. I was soooo tempted.
OK, so safety seats can be a pain. I didn't want to be out in the rain any longer than necessary, but being hassled while I'm trying to do the job isn't going to get it done any quicker.
