Out of curiosity and also to help me fill up my netflix movie queue as i NEVER know what is good, please list your top five current movies you have seen in the last oh let's say three years or so. The last few movies I have watched from netflix were sleepers...just terrible! I'd like to find some better ones! I see there is a top ten movie thread but that looks more like people are listing a lot of older movies, which that is good reading too, but also curious about newer stuff.

Help a sistah out! LOL

How about The Blind Side? That is due to come to me tomorrow. Now I have heard that one is really good.

Some others in my queue, if you think they suck let me know and I'll remove them - Terminator:Salvation, Sherlock Holmes, Seven Pounds, Marley and Me, Into the Wild (can't remove this one, Bus will kill me lol), and Crazy Heart to name a few.

I just saw Brothers - it was horrible. The new Jean Claude movie was TERRIBLE and a few others, I just can't remember the name.

My top five current ones have been:

1. The Hangover (OMG hilarious)
2. Precious
3. Saw IV (I like all of these, yea i'm a sick bastid LOL)
4. Crash (not sure if this was that new, but sticks out as I just watched it a few months ago)
5. Monsters Ball (probably over a couple years old too, but I just saw it recently)

I enjoyed Sherlock Holmes. I have The Blind Side - haven't watched it yet but I hear it it good.

If you like Star Trek, the new Star Trek is better than I anticipated. Hmm...what else did I see...

The Time Traveller's Wife
District 9...although some of it just pissed me off.
Taken
The Invention of Lying
The Men Who Stare at Goats

Yeah, those were pretty much the good ones.

The Men Who Stare at Goats

This one wasn't written by Dave or Ko by any chance was it?

Ok, on a serious note, was this one any good in your opinion? The story line sounds good, I just looked it up, but some of those with what sounds like a good storyline (Brothers for instance) end up making me sleep!

I have no sense of time but ok:

Alice in Wonderland
He's Just Not That Into You
Forgetting Sarah Marshall
Superbad
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
Star Trek

I know that's 6.

Hmm...It very well may have. But it's hilarious. Not quite what I was expecting, but funny nevertheless. You've heard of it haven't you?

I had heard of it in passing somewhere along the line, but had forgotten about it and no clue waht it was about.

So its a comedy? I was thinking it was a serious drama.

I live under a rock when it comes to movies. LOL

I might go see the new twilight movie in about an hour tho, catch a matinee!!!! I love being off work! LOL

Going to go for:

1. The Reader - Got a lot of stick but I really enjoyed it
2. Doubt - Brilliant film, really loved how it was done
3. Sex and Drugs and Rock n Roll - About Ian Dury, really good biopic
4. Get Him To The Greek - Loved it, best comedy since Borat imo
5. Inglourious Basterds - A little bit different, interesting and enjoyable.

Yes it was a comedy. Without ruining it, it's about a reporter doing almost like a 'where are they now' documentary on psychic commandos in the army from the 70's. But it is definitely a comedy.
