So you are saying that even though god cannot be proven, you just believe.

But when it comes to animals, you are willing to believe things that are not proven.

Ok.

Since it is relevant to the discussion we are here having, I'll post it here.

My college biology professor had a PhD. I don't know in what?

I'm willing consider the possibility that some animals have some sense of morality, but I doubt you'll find anyone who has studied it.

Well dah? Of course, that is founding myth of religion. Everything has at least one founding myth.



Of course, scientific ideas should have a basis in some kind of research.

I have been told by people, who have studied biology for decades that animals act by instinct.

Animals do act by instinct... sometimes... maybe even most of the time... but so do humans.

1 Corinthians 2:9

The kicker in the verse you cited is where it says "for them that love him." It's difficult if not almost impossible to follow through on loving God as he ought to be loved and, honestly, loving God at all. If anyone can demonstrate real passion and fealty to God I believe that in itself is a miracle.

It's all rather abstract, so before love, one might work on understanding.

One the other hand, God doesn't cheat in relationships, he doesn't hog the bathroom in the morning, and he doesn't borrow clothes without asking; so maybe I can love God easier than I can love people.

Psalm 18:2

The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

Here we have God in seven persons: rock, fortress, deliverer, strength, buckler, horn, and tower.

One might wonder if god was actually wooed by Dave's words... flattery will get you everywhere...

Or was god just a little be smarter than that...

Of course that would be just a rhetorical question as one can only conjecture what a fictional character might think and feel.
