Theranos’ Elizabeth Holmes

Just watched the HBO documentary on this wide-eyed blond medical tech Steve-Jobs wannabe who promised a blood testing machine in every home, but failed to produce one that would work.

She is still pleading not guilty in a federal case involving 11 counts of fraud in building up a $9 billion dollar industry on investor funds that not only failed to deliver in spectacular inaccuracy, but ended up using previously established laboratory equipment in secret to cover for the mistakes.

Faces up to 20 years in prison.

Oh well, it was a nice American dream anyways.

Why would we want, or need a blood testing machine in every home?


Does she have any kids that went to top universities?

... or did she?

The idea was to have a small desktop machine that could produce 200+ blood test results (such as CBC, liver function panel, hepatitis, PSA, TSH, you name it) from a single fingertip prick. And like a animated movie, enough regular tests on it over time would produce a view of growing trends in your body and help catch anything harmful much earlier than current lab testing does.
