The best Street Fighter II character? (back in the day)

I remember playing this for the 1st time at a mates house on his SNES when it 1st came out, groups of us would sit in his bedroom taking turns for hours (he only had 1 pad) i seem to remember the booklet did'nt tell you how to do the special moves n the computer would'nt give u enough time to learn em, i stuck with Guile for the only reason his Sonic Boom was the 1st special i learnt

I had the easiest time using Ken/Ryu

But I preferred Dhalsim because he frustrated the s*** out of everyone.

pick him and get fireballed to hell!!! Hadoken

Dhalsim was so annoying, but fun when I used him.

I suppose I should elaborate on my answer a bit, Zangief is possibly the only character who has not been changed had moves added or tweaked to his moveset over the later iterations of the game. Despite him being slow but powerful he has somewhat remained the same which in my opinion makes him the best character in the series.

Loved playing as Blanka and Chun-Li, but Ryu and E. Honda were my go-to guys. Honda always seemed to give people fits if they didn't know how to play him.

Once we learnt move's i was unstoppable with Ryu... still am seem to remember when we started every1 wanting to fight on the lefthand side of the screen, could'nt pull off moves on the right side, any1 else have same problem

That is a frustrating issue for me whenever I play a street fighter game.

stay away from Street fighter X Tekken its awful

Super Street Fighter 4 AE is wheres its at if you want a new version of street fighter

my faviorate of the older generation street fighters is Hyper Fighting (Arcade) then the SF Alpha 3 on Dreamcast

Beat em ups dont seem very big nowadays it seems to be all FPS
