"A ritual is an enactment of a myth. By participating in a ritual you are actually participating in a mythological life."

Joseph Campbell The Power of Myth

Smart dood for sure but gets lost in the fog.

I have a problem with his use of the word "actually."

If you are a social scientist and want to watch and categorize human behavior, the ones you observe don't experience the event as you watch it.

The Chinese just call it "food."

Is he mistaking "Musician" for "Entertainer"?

There are plenty of entertainers out there, but if you move past the flash and gore of modern entertainment, and occasionally you'll see the musician behind it.

There are plenty of musicians without a big stage.

I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest that if you want to criticize Joseph Campbell & his book The Power of Myth, it might make more sense to read the book as opposed to watching some lame YouTube rap video.

Just a thought.

On the other hand, I bet there are some cheesy YouTube rap versions of the Bible as well.

One of my most favoritest books what are is Kafka's 'Hunger artist'. He wasn't a true artist until he stopped playing to an audience.
