Well, they thought they already discovered every carnivore 35 years ago but now there's a new one! It's 35cm or 14 inches long and related to racoons.

Something else really cool is all the "extinct" species that have been discovered, including a fish that they thought became extinct 65 million years ago.

If anyone else knows any new species, jump in!

can evolution at times create a past code?

Dunno but that's a really interesting idea. I mean, if an animal now is just a mutated form of another animal then it could get mutated again and turn back into the original animal. I needa do some reading about that. It would be really cool if a dog or a lizard was just a mutated form of a dinosaur and it could get mutated back into a dinosaur!

Any changes in DNA coding is random, so, in theory, if an animal evolved to something to new, it could evolve into something old - assuming that that new something was able to survive under current environmental conditions. That said though, I do not think we are likely to see a bird become a lizard with Elvis style lace taffeta frills at the arms any time soon.

It needs more frills and less lace to be able to jump slightly higher, and hover slightly longer, than the others of its kind...
