Communism, is as stated, not an evil concept in and of itself. That said, the bad connotations of it come because in practice it's not the same as it is on paper. Thi is without a doubt because humans are selfish and have trouble sharing. All government and ther organizations,or time when people interact have one intrinsic flaw; they are comprise of people, and people are flawed. As Book in Firefly said:"A government is a body of people, usually, notably ungoverned."
Yeah, but it's like, when people talk about Communism, they're not even talking about the point of Communism, the equality of everybody. They focus on the restrictions of freedoms, the crap the dictators did because they were, you know, d***-tators.
Not that I think a Communist government could ever work, no way in hell. Maybe in a small group, like a town, but a country of millions? Or even hundreds of thousands? No way. Because like you said, people are flawed, and the more people involved, the more power the leaders need to have, and that just leads to corruption.
Anyways - Communism isn't about keeping people from reading or saying what they want. It's about not being oppressed by the ruling class. Mostly.
