The Day the Earth Stood Still

I watched this the other day and I suppose it was ok

Just one thing I don't understand. Why did it take 5 seconds for that cloud to destroy an entire stadium but when Keanu Reeves' character walked into it at the end he survived for like 2 minutes?

I know it's based on an old movie but is there a book too? I might enjoy reading it more than watching it.

I agree that it was ok. I just wish it didn't end so suddenly. It seemed like there was no closure.

I think he didn't dissolve quickly because he could control them somehow.

i liked the old one thought this was poor

the old movie is ten million times better,
i thought this one sucked...badly

I just can't bring myself to watch this remake. I've seen plenty of remakes of movies, but I think I'll be skipping this one. I really loved the original The Day The Earth Stood Still and I don't want to ruin it for myself

i saw it a few months ago and i am COMPLETELY confused by it..
the only time i noticed the earth standing still was when that lady tapped her watch...
it had NOTHING to do with ANYTHING

if you ask me it was just a really long global warming advert...

The terrible scenes depicting him as Jesus looked out of place also.
Such a cheap way to try and make your movie 'deep'

the original is the best in my opinion..

I feel exactly the same way. The original is one of my favorite sci-fi films.

perhaps it is a bug in the movie.movie should be nicer than novel because of its impressiveness and vividness.right?
