Why So Serious?

Everyday I thank whoever it is up above for giving me the life I had. Everything I could ever want in life I have. Not just what I need, but what I want. And you know what? Maybe I was abused when I was a kid but that is nothing compared to some of the s*** some people have to live with.

Example:

That child, he's alive in that picture. Right now at this moment I highly doubt he's still breathing. During his lifetime he didn't even know what it was like to have the things I have. He didn't even know some of these things existed. You think that kid knew what a computer was? That kid didn't even know what meat was.

I'm not going to sit here and brag about everything I have in my life to complete strangers, but I have it better than most right now. I have pretty much everything I want.

What does this kid have?

A couple days to live. That's all.

These children will never experience supper nevermind life. They will never know romance, never know love, they aren't going clubbing with their friends when they turn 18, they aren't even going to school.

And then I see the numerous profiles on here, complaining about the stuff that happens in their life. People are constantly complaining about how their life is so hard Compared to these people, you're life is cake! Don't complain when it could be so much worse! These people would kill to have the life you have! You should be thankful that you have the priviledge of using this computer! You should be thankful you can run clean water right out of the kitchen sink. You have alot more than you'll ever know or appreciate.

*im sorry.. i really needed to vent*

If those people would just stop overpopulating their country, maybe they'd solve a problem! I'm hungry!

The phrase "attitude of gratitude" is overused. But the truth is still there. Your quality of life will always be better if you are thankful for what you have and for the good things that have happened to you.

Well it's a bit hard to stop overpopulating when you don't have access to birth control.

Yes, but if they'd just try to have less sex, it could help. I guess...

Well, nothing is going to keep people from having less sex. If I lived in one of those places I'd probably want to have more sex because I might die tomorrow.

I'm more than speechless.

If I add up all the suffering I've ever had and compare it to theirs, it is nothing. I've always eaten and have had a place to live.

After I saw those pictures, I called my children over to see it so they can appreciate what they have as well.

We are spoiled here in America!!

Tie a f***ing knot in it....
I find the situation annoying to say the least. I am sick of Bob Geldof telling us that someone dies every three seconds in Africa, and they need our help. I walk around my home town and see homless people starving, the elderly scrimping to afford their electricity and gas bill, while smack heads and shoplifters are given money for their habits. Lazy bastards who have never worked in their life being given a cheque every week to pay for a new pair of nikes for all 5 kids they have and the sweet old lady next door barely enough to buy her a loaf of bread. I see this stuff and think f*** em, let's sort out our own country first before helping people around the globe. Charity starts at home.

Well, we can TRY to do something, but whatever we do, the problem will always be there. Forget Africa, go America. We need help here before we go elsewhere. That's what Bob was getting to.
Go and help people halfway across the world, I don't care. I want America to be the one that is helped. We can get our own on their feet again. It's much easier than trying to help COUNTLESS people who are gonna die anyway, because I doubt that there is much hope that we can bring any of them back!

you know, when i went and feed food to the homeless, i noticed alot of them were fine! they ARE lazy. they could be out there getting a job, they can help themselves! but over there in 3rd world countries, they cant do anything for themselves, they NEED help. people in north america are extremely lazy. you have hollywood bastards who sit there on their 4.5 million dollar homes while people lay down in the sand with cockroaches surrounding them.
could you honestly tell me that if you were one of those children.. would you want to listen to someone say "i dont want to help you because i come first"

How about helping them out with some birth control and education on how to use it. Then they'd be having less kids.

Furthermore, it's well known that a higher cost of living leads to lower birth rates (that's one reason why the US and Europe have low birth rates and then countries like this have high birth rates). So, improve the economy and prices go up and the birthrates go down.

im sorry, but i dont see america needing help anytime soon. you guys are one of the most richest and powerful countries in the world... please.. explain to me why you guys need help first..
yes i know you have homeless people, and prostitution, and poverty. but you know what.. im sure if you saw some child like in the first picture walking down the street you would try and help it out ASAP... so whats the difference when theres TONS more across the world just waiting to be helped?

Let's not assume things about the homeless so quickly. They may look fine on the outside, but there can be problems inside. They may be lazy, but these people are homeless and no one wants to take in a dirty old person that has been living on the streets. No one wants to give a grizzled hobo a job, people don't trust them!
If I was one of them children, I would FIGHT for a better life! I would take a damn stand, because I wouldn't sit around and watch some damn christian group trying to teach pointless bs to my brethren! I would fight for food! But since I ain't one of them kids, I ain't worried. People have bigger problems at home. They don't wanna worry about a load of hungry children! THEY HAVE PROBLEMS TOO!!!
