Texas announces new State bird

Not really. But while we were in beautiful Austin these past few days, I noticed several of these birds drinking/bathing in the Criss Cole Rehabilitation Center parking lot. Pretty sure they weren't indigenous to Texas, I found out there is a feral population of these Monk parakeets in Austin. A few of them stuck around for some pics.

Looks like they are having a jolly old good time there
