Federal income:

Before Obama (BO)
2006: 2.4 Trillion
2007: 2.6 Trillion
2008: 2.5 Trillion

After Obama (AB)
2009: 2.1 Trillion
2010: 2.2 Trillion
2011: 2.3 Trillion

Tax savings under Obama? $900 billion dollars.

Yep.

One thing - and this is scarily pedantic...shouldn't After Obama be AO, not AB?

Of course taxes are lower under Obama. Most of the country is out of work and not paying much in taxes.

I can't trust this source as there is a link and thus the ability for me to look it up is obsolete. It would of been believable had you have put something along the lines of "Look it up on Google, I'm not doing your homework".

Hoppy, there's 3.5 million job openings in the US right now https://www.bls.gov/news.release/jolts.nr0.htm

Go get one! Do it now!

Looks good on paper, like all liberal claims. In my town, I'd have to settle for a job clerkin in a stop-an-rob or Walmart. Few, if any of our major industries are hiring. If they do, they'll hire back help they let go.

Hoppy, people with college degrees have jobs. If your only job prospect is Wal-Mart whose fault is that? Is it the fault of people who got college degrees and don't shop at Wal-Mart or is it the fault of people who took the easy route and now can only afford to shop at Wal-Mart, and are only qualified to work at Wal-Mart?

If these 3.5 million jobs are for crappy jobs, as you say, then they are perfectly suited to the majority of the unemployed.

I'm sorry but I have to say this - from a British perspective, a university degree is zero guarantee of a decent job these days. There are many graduates with a massive 45K debt and no job prospects worth going after in order to even pay that off in many cases.

Is it really different for the US? lol. I see no guarantees from education as a given.

A lot of it depends on what kind of degree. Liberal arts? May as well as apply for a job at wal-mart. Business? May take you a while but you can work your way up to middle management.

Computer sciences, engineers, law, medicine - those are the ones in demand. If you want to work and earn a living wage, go into one of those fields.

It's not that simple - the more demand, the more competition in the job market. There are many graduates with good degrees in prime fields competing for menial jobs - plus they have a massive debt - the 45K I mentioned isn't even dollars - it is pounds - way more to you.

Education provides no guarantees anywhere, which is why many students are giving up higher education.

Of course it's not a guarantee, but the numbers are pretty clear:

Unemployment rate...
... less than high school diploma: 12.9%
... only high school: 8.3%
... some college: 7.3%
... Bachelors degree or higher: 4.2%

I agree, but what I laid out is a good start. The US is crying for engineers, doctors, computer techs. We need them.

A person can hedge their bets by going after a degree that is needed for an in demand job field.
