I hear all of this "Spreading the wealth" stuff being criticized by Republicans a lot lately, and it puzzles me. Aren't they aware that ALL taxes are "spreading the wealth"? It makes it sound like Republicans don't want to pay any taxes at all. Which is bizarre. How would you pay for things that everyone uses, like roads, hospitals and schools? Can you imagine if there was no one to pay for those things?

ALL taxes, every single cent of ANY taxes you pay are for "spreading the wealth". I don't see how Republicans can b**** about that without being opposed to all taxes in general.

They're just desperate, they're saying anything they can to make people afraid of Obama.

They've tried to link him with terrorism. Now they're trying to link him with socialism.

The McCain campaign has been baffling me lately with the stuff they've been saying. "How can he cut taxes for 95% of people if 40% of them already don't pay any income tax?" Um, here's another question for you John, "How can you b**** about someone's policy when you clearly have no idea how it works?" Obama's plan cuts PAYROLL TAXES. Anyone with a pay check pays payroll taxes, they're taken out BEFORE you cash your check. You never see that money. So Obama's tax cut would result in a direct increase in the amount of money people take home. I KNOW he's smart enough to understand what payroll tax is. It's not complicated to understand. And if he really CAN'T understand it, then i know for DANG sure I don't want him as president! He's spreading ignorance like the common cold.

Even people who pay less tax -- still pay plenty of taxes.

Crap, go to the store. Taxes.
Pay your electric bill. Taxes.
Pay your phone bill. Taxes.
Buy a new car. Taxes.
Own a home. Property Taxes.
Buy gasoline. Taxes.
Buy cigarettes. Special Taxes.
Go out to eat. Taxes.
Get your car repaired. Taxes.

Who are they kidding? EVERYONE is taxed to death in this country. But Obama wants to cut the blue-collar working man -- just that one little bit of slack -- and it's killing the McCains? Why does it bother them so much to give the little guys a teeny-tiny break?

Any stinking transaction a person makes in this nation, rich or poor -- they pay taxes.

Plus reducing a tax is not "giving" anyone anything.
They are just "taking" less.

That was already the "wage-earners" money.
It's HIS paycheck. He earned it. By working for it.

The people who will have their TAXES reduced are not getting anything for "free".
They earned that money. It is originally theirs.
It's just that the government is taking LESS of what the little guy -- makes.

This just shows people how far off the track we've all become. Especially John McCain.
Taxes are originally YOUR money to begin with.

australia, like the usa has a strong middle class. After 1/4 million taxes either stop or are reduced. Your democratic party wishes to continue it at the same rate causing the upper middle class and coporate class to stop investing in the business sector. If the dusiness sector doesn't create jobs, then the lower classes cannot get good paying jobs, and are stuck with govt. programs.

Most people in America couldn't figure out how this works.

Constitutionally (technically), the Citizens of the USA are untaxable. Only corporations and imports/exports are taxable. The 16th Amendment changed that, but in the Constitution it states you cannot change the foundation of the document like that. That's what was so great about it, it was expandable but you couldn't take the basic privileges away ever. But Congress does it anyways. This is why Americans are so confused all the time.

I'd like to see the four statements in the Constitution that confirm what you just said above is correct. (Without having to read the entire thing.)

Socialism has been alive and well in the United States since at least the 1896 election. Most of the things that are now considered socialist were in the Populist and Democrat National Platforms of that year. If I remember correctly, none of it became law until the Franklin Roosevelt administration.

Socialism comes with a price. I remember that in the 1950's, anyone could park a car in Harlem, leave it for the night and find it intact the next morning. Same goes for Central Avenue in Los Angeles. That's not true anymore, mostly because of the mistakes of the Johnson Aministration that brought us single parent households, out of wedlock pregnancies, grandmothers raising their grandchildren, and millions of aborted babies.
