Have a look at Raditz link.

There are plenty of economists there who disagree.

Hmm an excellent analogy.

I have to say I don't see how you can charge a flat tax rate without increasing the level people don't pay tax at which should be even less fair. It would also mean more benefits would need to be given out to families who were previously below the level tax becomes. If anything I feel it is better to increase the number of brackets of tax there are. People do not individually need a million dollars a year it is just over the top and it would be better if they were taxed more so people can eat rather than them buying another 100" TV.
There are a lot of people out there today who do not deserve the amount they are being paid.
Saying this I do not think assets should be taxed. It discourages saving, people should be able to feel they are secure in their ownership of something once they got it.

btw I don't suggest you assume anything about anyone. People will suprise you. And just because you go to a state run institution doesn't mean you'll beleieve one thing and as you can see private schools don't bread one kind of person either.

People don't "need" a million dollars a year. There are a lot of things that people have that they don't "need." Should the government seize that from them as well and give it to the "less fortunate?"

Another case of wealth envy.
