Very interesting.

I thought so, and I never finished it.
I got to the part where pi is brought in.

Pi got me hungry.
I finished it yesterday.
I think it is a combo like they say at the end.

Thanks - enjoyed it.

Being kind of a space/science/math fan I've seen many of those things in other shows.

I watched it once. Very good. thanks

I found nothing that was inconsistent with my beliefs.

In answer to the question I would say the math was invented as a way to represent phenomena.

I will have to watch it again in order to come up with support for the proposition.

So, was mathematics 'invented' or did humans just put a name to it? To me it is something that has always been, there just wasn't a name for it.

I consider mathematics to be concepts (abstractions) that refer to numbers, quantities, measurements, and the relations between them. Concepts happen in the mind. If that is correct, them mathematics was invented (i.e., symbols ,devised by thinking, to represent phenomena).

Yes, that's the way I see it.

The relationships exist, we call them "Math" and make funny symbols to help us understand and grasp it.
And we further Discover the more complicated relationships.

It's the way everything is linked together and starts off with some basic premises and still holds true "across the universe" that gets my rocks off (so to speak)

That is why Math and Science were my strong subjects. It all makes sense once you get the basics down, unlike history - which is the study of people doing stupid s*** for who knows what reason.

Math is good. Numbers are constant, they don't change. History is changed by the person/ persons reciting it.

since we have found size matters, the laws being different for atoms and matter. how do we know new laws will not be found even in the universe we think we know about?

As far as the laws of mathematics refer to reality, they are not certain, and as far as they are certain, they do not refer to reality.
