No one else has posted it yet, so I thought I'd hold off the flood of outrage that will doubtlessly ensue:

https://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5hfZBulx_H-prruRU2Clj0dIgUOww

The whole video is on Youtube. The story, not that you'd know it from the AP article, is that this kid asked Kerry a bunch of questions in "rant" form at a Kerry Q&A session at his university. He was not letting Kerry answer any of them, went well over his allotted time for asking a question, got his microphone turned off, got told to shut up by campus police several times, struggled for a minute or two while the police tried to haul him out of the room, and finally got Tasered when they couldn't restrain him.

The audience applauded when the student got dragged off by the police.

Internet outrage follows with headlines like "STUDENT TASERED WHILE TRYING TO ASK KERRY A QUESTION."

The most interesting thing is that the guy wasn't some right-wing nut attacking Kerry. He's a left-wing nut that *agrees* with Kerry.

In any case, I saw some videos of him standing on a street corner with a big sign that says "HARRY DIES" on the day the last Harry Potter book was released. I guess the dude is just some big attention whore.

harry potter thing isnt true lol secondly what right did the police have to taser him? firstly he wasnt a threat to the public or john kerry , secondly kerry didnt see him as a threat he was actually just about to awnser the questions and thirdly its called excessive force when u taser someone who isnt a threat, he was holding a book and conecting in intelectual discourse with kerry,

some ppl mite say he was tasered for resisting arrest but i know in england that if the police dont give u a reason for arrest then u can resist as much as u like.

and if u listen carefully the the police officer duno if its a girl or a guy lol said shutup to the woman who was screaming in horror at a inocent citzen geting tazered.

i also dont think the audeience were aplauding at the fact he was getting dragged away i think it was cuz he said " im not going anywhere "!

stupid GOONS POLICE BRUTALITY!!!

Wow, you obviously didn't watch the video or read my comments.

Police brutality? Give me a break. The guy went way over his microphone time and didn't allow anyone else to speak including Kerry himself. He was ranting wildly after his microphone had been shut off and had been asked a couple of times to sit down by the campus police.

Campus police had *no choice* but to attempt to remove him from the room. He resisted violently. They were struggling with him for some time before they finally Tasered him and hauled him out.

Did you miss the part where the audience *applauded* after he was hauled out?

Try learning the facts before passing judgment.

Wow, that's coherent.

They were campus police. They were not actual police officers.

They were attempting to forcibly remove him from the room.

Let me ask you this: if you were the campus police in this situation, what would you have done?

Because they weren't arresting him. They are not police officers, they are campus security.

just checked out the video,
he was just some idiot, unarmed and posing no threat other than annoyance.
it was a complete overreaction to taser him.

if the security couldn't just drag him outside then they're completely inept in the first place, a half competent night club bouncer could of handled that, and to taser him is ridiculous in my opinion.

too many people think that tasers are the simple solution to any public disturbance problem, i think wholeheartedly that it counts as police brutality if its used without due cause and irresponsibly. they hurt like a mother f***er.
... way more than a quick punch in stomach anyway, and if they did that they'd be in alot trouble.

Watch the officers grab him and start leading him out of the room. They get almost all the way to the door when Meyer jumps out of their grasp and struggles against two of them trying to get back towards the stage. He continues struggling against three of them and finally gets hit with the Taser. They handcuff him on the ground and lead him out of the room.

The video continues outside the room where he is finally calmed down and led outside.

He is highly aware of the cameras in both rooms, too. He's totally showboating "you're going to break my arm!" by the front door.

Actually it looks like I was mistaken, these are actual police officers, not campus police.

Easy assumption to make when you've never attempted to restrain a guy really hopped up on adrenaline who is violently resisting you.

Trust me, it's *really hard* even for several people.

If he had simply let the officers escort him from the room, he wouldn't have gotten Tasered. Instead, he resisted, broke free of them and tried to run at the stage, and continued to struggle after they tackled him.

i dont see the difference between the real police? what were the handcuffs doing ? what were they doing with tasers? and i think your underestimating campus police these wernt just security guards they should be suspended without pay untill an enquiry into this situation is initiated, this was horrible use of force and from what i know of the law it was also unlawful use of force,

i dont ever recall security guards having hand cuffs and tasers, and i also dont recall it being illegal to be a idiot.

well then now we have both agreed they were police officers they should almost definetly be suspended without pay untill there is an enquiry.

when on earth did the police in any democratic state have the authority to arrest someone without giving them a reason, in england your allowed to resist arrest if they dont give u a reason for arrest.

i have i worked in a hotel and i've had to physically throw out a few guys, one guy on crack actually....sigh...that was fun i'm so glad i don't work there anymore....anyway, and they're trained better than i am.
it was their screw up letting him go, so they should of went back to him, cuffed him and took him outside.

he was totally show boating for the cameras, 'ooh don't taser me', he was an idiot, but it was irresponsible to taser him and they really shouldn't of done it.
not unless he posed a threat, which he very clearly, in no way did.
