The family of a three-year-old girl who was killed in a hit-and-run crash have reacted furiously after the driver was jailed for 12 weeks.

That's just crazy! The way I see it is that the car was a weapon, and he wielded that weapon without regard for the lives around him. That is murder, whether accidentally or not. So while I'm sure he never intended to kill anyone when he stole the car and drove recklessly, the point is he did. And then he left the scene of the crime. And then he receives a slap on the hand. I know we've all heard of more cases than this where the punishment just doesn't seem equal to the crime, and it's just frustrating to know that those people will pretty much get away with murder because of an imperfect justice system.

That is absolutly appauling. there needs to be chamge in the law. A while back there was a 8 year boy killed near here in a similar incident and the driver got a totally crap unreflective sentence too.

WTF? What the hell is wrong with this world? Are all these judges complete idiots? All of a sudden it's okay to steal a car and kill a child and all you'll get is a slap on the wrist? What a crock, this world's officially gone to hell

Just by the finger tips.

I have to take my son into town shortly and this time last night a "joy rider" nearly cut me in two.

The penalties have to be a lot stronger to get these cars and bad drivers off the roads.

The laws an ass.

Both police forces were out tonight in an effort to get the joy riders that were here last night.

Didn't see anyone in chains
