...the morning after he met with, you know, the people who should be shaping America's energy policies - namely, his friends in the oil business, and oh, sure, for fun, why not the CEO of Enron - and you find in the folder marked "Energy Task Force" where they carved out the new "plan" for where America planned to get and how to use its energy, and what do you find?

Ahhh, but of course, it is March of 2001, still months before 911 - though not long before Condi would crumple that memo about Bin Laden and all those planes and toss 'er right in the trash - and there are maps of Iraq in there. Ah, wait, there's lists and locations of oil sites as well.

"(Washington, DC) Judicial Watch, the public interest group that investigates and prosecutes government corruption and abuse, said today that documents turned over by the Commerce Department, under court order as a result of Judicial Watch?s Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit concerning the activities of the Cheney Energy Task Force, contain a map of Iraqi oilfields, pipelines, refineries and terminals, as well as 2 charts detailing Iraqi oil and gas projects, and ?Foreign Suitors for Iraqi Oilfield Contracts.? The documents, which are dated March 2001, are available on the Internet at: www.JudicialWatch.org."

So, does that have anything to do with Rummy, Wolfowitz, Jeb Bush and Co. signing a letter to Clinton in '98 that asks:

"In your upcoming State of the Union Address, you have an opportunity to chart a clear and determined course for meeting this threat. We urge you to seize that opportunity, and to enunciate a new strategy that would secure the interests of the U.S. and our friends and allies around the world. That strategy should aim, above all, at the removal of Saddam Hussein?s regime from power. We stand ready to offer our full support in this difficult but necessary endeavor."

It seems this whole "War Lust" thing isn't after all - though lots of us have known about it, I just felt like putting these things together today - just a fleeting democrat suspicion. The Deufler report confirms what everyone, face it guys, everyone, has been saying for months: there were no weapons. There was no capacity to produce such weapons. And sorry, but American math has been somewhat fuzzy for the last four years, so I'm just going to have to say it: That equals No Threat.

Why is it so hard to see that these guys went to Iraq with the outlined goal of securing its oil reserves. If you are still saying oil is not an issue, you need to wake up and smell the petrolium in all those Hummers that are cruising around as "Light Trucks" under the new vehicle classifications drafted by already mentioned "Energy Task Force" which included everyone from Ken Lay, former CEO of Houston Natural gas and candidate to play himself in Gordon Gecko II: The Bush Bull Market, to Thomas Kuhn, president of the Edison Electric Institute, Marc Racicot, chairman of the Republican National Committee and a lobbyist, Haley Barbour, a former Bush campaign advisor and a lobbyist for Southern Company.

Thank god Cheney has the records to those meetings sealed - though bits and pieces, like those cited above, have been leaked - and has fought extensively in the courts to keep them that way. After all, who would care what d*** f***ing Cheney and a bunch of nongovernment oil tycoons would be talking about while drafting national energy policy?

Me, but apparently I'm alone...

Except for that list of people trying to sue Cheney of course, which is long. Ahh, so I feel less alone.
