If they do wipe us out, well it would just be saving time as we seem to be doing a pretty good job of that ourselves. Yeah, why not.

Maybe some kind of technological singularity is an inevitable stage of our evolution, as many futurists have suggested. We are destined to escape our fragile, fleshy bodies and spawn a race of superhuman machines.

Nick, you crack me up, fair dinkum!
I am amazed, I hit page 2 before I could blink, lol, thanks all!
Buffalo, as has been said, technology is exploding faster than any one person or group can keep track of, let alone understand how it will all interact. One of the Holy Tenets of AI, and those who can't believe it's possible, is the complexity and the sheer number of the neural connections in the human brain. But, keep adding processors to everything on the planet, keep increasing it's speed and efficiency, keep linking and cross-referencing it all, and sooner or later we MUST start to rival the brain, and given all the advances in awareness and recognition programming, who knows........??
As for the Cyborg option, I would be amazed, given what I think I know of Human Nature, lol, if it didn't come to pass, assuming we overcome the last, very few technical and medical problems.
God I wish I had another century in me, lol, it's definitely true to say, I'm dying to know what going to happen!

I guess my point is 1898 Curie's discovery of radium - 1945 - Hiroshima, Nagasaki - Now - Nukes, that make WW2 look like firecrackers.

Sorry, in my experience, it's a double-header, small kids can hit warp-speeds at will, you only need to take your eye off them for a second, and I am NOT joking! They can apparently at times pass through solid objects too, ask any parent!
The other is that kids, individually, in groups, in herds, will warp space around them, and drive you into a warped state of existence!
(OH, and that one IS partly a joke!)

You have my commiserations, was it a mad Uncle or something, some reason you HAD to have it? I have a few red shirts like that, I never wear them, all my mother can remember is the association, me-red, she forgets the "hates" bit!
Once had a friend replace all the Honda badges on his bike with Holden ones, including putting the V8 symbol on the motor,(CB750) you'd be gob-smacked at how many people thought it was REAL!

So you're a ford man I take it?

People thought that Holden were making V8 bikes now?

Why doesn't this surprise me actually

FORD?
There's three ways to do things in a car, the easy way, the hard way, and the Ford way!
Gimme a break, lol, I drive a beat-up 25yr old Subaru4X4, it's been in a few creeks, off a few drops, swum in the ocean, had half a tree drop on it in a cyclone, and it's a disgusting maroon colour, lol, but it just keeps on going, I've grown to love it!
