Should the Death Penalty be brought back?

With forensic evidence improving its very rare to convict the wrong person today (but still happens) alot of people say it should be a life for a life, do you agree? Would giving a serious criminal the death penalty be an easy way out for the criminl instead of rotting in jail? it seems more and more released criminals tell how easy it is inside, is jail really a deterrent anymore?

simple answer no.. its barbaric and there's always that chance they get it wrong

No.

If jail isn't a deterrent anymore then it should be made one. Bare bones amenities, and zero privileges should save taxpayer money. And mandatory work gangs benefit us anyhow, as it provides free labor for public services.

As far as the death penalty, no. It's cruel and serves no purpose other than revenge that life sentences cannot.

Hell yeah. The prison system eats away at goverment funds from taxes. With the death penalty, well the goveremnt would have more money to give to our Police FOrce and NHS.

Or just privatise prisons, make them do manual labour, Then the prison company can pay a good percentage to the Goverment it aint like they will have to pay wages out is it.

WHo said anything about Death Row. Just you are guilty of murder. Bang. Then send a bill to the criminals family to cover the cost of the round. Thats how China does it. They even have Wagons that administer the Lethal Injection.

That would be true if it weren't for the fact that the death penalty would in all likelihood cost more than a prison sentence.

Even if that were true it seems somewhat barbaric to kill someone simply because it is cheaper than not killing them. Apart from anything else I wouldn't feel comfortable living in a state with the power to kill its citizens.

Have to admit if it was something serious, say against a family member id wanna be the axeman myself.

Restart the Gladiator games, make some profit off the criminals.
