Should High Speed Broadband Be.........

..........an essential part of a country's infrastructure? Is it something everyone should have access to?

The argument in Australia atm between political parties is whether private companies should pay for Australia wide coverage or whether, because it is seen by many people as an essential service, the government should foot some of the bill.

I read today that google is bying out the worlds fiber optic black lines i think it seems that phone companys ect have no need for one of the lines in fiber optic cable?
Im not good at quoting but you might be able to find something on this.
In other words google plans to supply the world with the internet.
