I'm hearing reports of an Aberdeen fan who was at the game today dressed as a sheep was set on fire on a train on the way back somewhere in fife.

Apparently he was so badly burned he had to be rushed to hospital in Dunfirmline.

f***ing hell, about half the dons fans where dressed up at the game, I saw a couple of them dressed as sheep not far in front of where I was sitting. Hope the guys OK.

Of what I can gather a Hibs fan (team we were playing) flicked a lit match or a cigarette at him and he caught fire. Sounds like it was an accident that went bad.

In the 80's Hibs (the Edinburgh team) fans once threw a petrol bomb on Princess Street (main street in Edinburgh) at Aberdeen fans. There used to be a lot of violence between the two sets of supporters.

Thankfully that rarely happens these days.

Well, at least it wasn't on purpose. Sounds like someone was just bein an ass, not intending 2 hurt anyone. I guess the costume was pretty flammable? That is still pretty terrible, tho. Hope the guy is okay...

poor guy. My sister is dating a guy from scotland. When he takes her home he has banned her from wearing green. Something to do with football. I thought it was a joke but apparently not.

I wouldn't wear green in Glasgow (or Orange for that matter), but the rest of the country would be fine. There is a huge reputation about Hibs and Aberdeen being violent, particularly with each other, this will just make it worse but according to a Dundee fan who was on the train it was just friendly banter that went wrong.

Hearing different reports now, some claiming it was an accident, others claiming it was pre-meditated and someone tried to pour lighter fluid in him.

Three Hibs fans have been arrested and all the trains were delayed, the reason being given a 'major police issue'.

Heard reports saying the loon who was set on fire had minor injuries and burns right up to it being serious. Everything's sketchy at the moment but It will most likely be in the papers tomorrow.

Oh, a few Aberdeen fans were beaten up by Hibs Casuals at the top of London road too. Thats quite a main road not far from the ground.

A lot of trouble today seemingly, feel almost lucky that I saw none of it.

PASSENGERS on a train travelling from Edinburgh to Aberdeen last night described seeing ?something like a horror movie? when a burning man ran past them.

The man, who was in fancy dress at the time, dressed as a sheep, was believed to be among a group of Aberdeen FC supporters travelling back from the capital following their 2-0 defeat to Hibernian FC.

It?s understood the incident was the result of a prank involving a firework.

That's terrible! I can't imagine being burned like that. Hope the guy's okay. There must have been an accelerant involved because I can't get matches to burn paper without effort.

I sure am glad that I live in the states and cheer for the Clemson Tigers (orange) and Notre Dame(Green)!
I hope the guy recovers.
No sporting event is worth violence.
