Why didn't the rain come today?
I prayed so hard, not one drop.
Only needed for a bit to hide
deep, cruel heartache within me.
The tears won't stop; staying under
the covers isn?t an option today.
Just a little rain to avoid shedding
sorrow on those who have their own.
Looking in the mirror there's horror,
makeup can?t cover my hurting heart.
I'm sorry, so sorry to have this need
for comfort from those who will give it.
When will the ache lighten, lifting
this lost tattered, troubled being?
How many will leave us in despair,
in attempts to crawl out of the well?
Why did you send sun on this day?
No light could find its' way to foggy eyes.
Perhaps you were shining a light of hope?
When time comes to heal searing pain,
will the sunshine make everything clear?
Am I strong enough to handle another loss?
You must believe in me, when will tears wane?
They will start again, please, I want her back.
Please don't take any more soon, they're needed.
Send them back please, perhaps I'm selfish,
hold me, please, you have enough of my heart.
