I've not read many of either genre so I'd like to start reading more. Could you lovely people suggest some to me? I don't mind if they're vintage or modern or what nationality the writers are, I would just like some suggestions. Thank you.

Dune

Thank you. I know of the novels but I've read none of them. Thank you, there's my list started.

Anything by Piers Anthony

Incarnations of Immortality Series

Xanth Series

The Xanth Series is full of puns. I can't help but wonder if it's similar to Discworld.

I was going to suggest that one. I've never read it though.

I like the sound of Clive Barker after watching Hellraiser: Pinhead is an iconic figure to me.

For Science Fiction, I'd recommend Lensmen, and the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy book.

As for Fantasy... well, you can't go wrong with The Lord of the Rings, or Discworld.

I will. I hate reading books out of order if they're part of a series. It might take me a couple of reads too.

The Belgariad and the Malloreon. The Belgariad is the coming of age and the Malloreon's a bit more mature but you kind of have to know the Belgariad for bits of it to make sense. I haven't read the two book that go with those - Belgarath the Sorceror and Polgara the Sorceress - but they're meant to be really good too.

That's what I like: something I can go back to again and again. Sometimes I finish a book and wish I hadn't read it so I could read it for the first time again.
