OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — A satanic group unveiled designs Monday for a 7-foot-tall statue of Satan it wants to put at the Oklahoma state Capitol, where a Ten Commandments monument was placed in 2012.

In other words, we have a public official openly saying that alternative religions are not welcome and will not be tolerated.

Normally I would say that we should stick with the separation of church and state and not allow this a religious statue to be placed at a government site. However, the Oklahoma government has already put up a monument to one religion.

So, I "vote" for all religions to be represented equally at the Oklahoma government site. Islam, HIndu, etc. should all be allowed to have their own monuments as well.

That would be Death though, not Satan.

My reasons are more peevish than anything. I spent a few years trying to keep unruly children off of a bronze sculpture. Having this be art that is intended to be climbed on or sat on makes it "ok" to do that to others.

Furthermore, as a chair, that looks horrendously uncomfortable.
