Do you ever wish that you could just run away somewhere? Where no-one knows you and no-one you know knows where you are!

Yes, a lot of the time. Not so much running away from home as just wanting to get away from everyone else. In that way I guess uni is a bit of a lifeline as it will allow me to do that in a few months' time.

No.

I'd hate to live somewhere with no social connections. I wouldn't be able to do it. I HAVE to socialise, I need to know people.

Sure, although not so much running away. More like having somewhere nearby I could go to have some peace and be able to think about stuff.

I like being able to go away for a bit with different people. It really helps me, doubt I'll get a chance anytime soon.

...like anything else in life...sometimes making that break takes cojones and most take the easy option and come up with reasons why they can't do it...

Fair enough, but we all have them moments when we're fed up with things in our lives. No-one said life would be easy and if we all acted on the impulse to actually run away every time we wanted a change then none of us would settle and we'd just be running from our problems instead of actually facing them and building our character.

...very true...but is this primarily a discussion about running away from problems or just acting on a capricious whim ?

Before I moved across country I had that a lot. Seriously, almost all the time. I was a regular visitor to the local parks to help me keep sane. You just have to find a place nearby that you can skip away to when you have a spare hour. Nature is a great release for me. Perhaps there is something in your area that will give you the needed 'you time'.

Both I suppose, it's just a discussion on getting that impulse, it could be for any reason.

I've felt that way many times but the thought of moving makes me tired. It's probably a good thing I can't afford to just get in the car and drive away. I feel safe here.

when i was small i ran away a few times.
i'd go about 100 meters away from home with a bag of stuff and just chill.
i even stayed out for most of the night once.
