It's hard to judge people individually when they've got their head shoved up the a** of the GOPer in front of them, all following like a big train with the Greatest Engine Ever to lead the Ass-Train: Donald Jesus Christ Trump. And his side-kick, the Ass-Train Tender is none other than Mitch the Turtle.

The few that I've seen not get on that train seem to be OK - namely Kasich and DeWine.

Sure. But, people who don't qualify for a license should not have a license to lose. Illegal aliens should not have a license to do anything in this country.

Tell that to the companies that hire them.… Which oddly enough even includes Donald Trump corporations.

The 'employer' should be prosecuted. Why aren't they? There are laws on the books about that.
It's illegal.
Penalties include massive fines, and prison.

Why aren't these employers being prosecuted?

I have said for decades:

If you want to get rid of the illegal aliens, prosecute the employers. Prosecute them criminally and civilly. Go after the owners, CFO's, CEO', and HR managers/personnel. Take down a few of them with jail time and draconian fines and literally no one will hire an illegal alien. Without jobs, i.e.money, 90% will leave. The 10%, or even less, that stay will be hardened criminals that our law enforcement can focus on.

OR

Acknowledge that they are a viable part of our economy, and actually paying taxes, and give them a legal avenue to be here.

I do agree with chaski though, enforcing border policy would be better done by going after the companies doing the illegal hiring. I’m not for open borders, I just think there are a hell of a lot more humane ways to deal with the issue than the clusterf*** that is currently going on.... in several countries. Many times people are just trying to do the best for their families, the system is pretty f***ed up.

And the current administration has tried several times to improve it.
He keeps getting met with "Open borders or nothing."
So ... nothing.

We're doing everything we can right now. Trump will prolly try again after this virus thing is over, and after the democrats have been voted and laughed out of DC.

But the current administration keeps putting forth stupid a** ideas that waste money or don't work...or both. Which isn't really improving it either. Its just a bunch of a** kissing that does nothing and blaming everyone else for their failures, and refusing to take responsibility.

Trump wants to limit immigration. He doesn't want open borders and unlimited immigration. He wants to be able to pick who gets in considering how and if they'd improve life here in the US. Almost 10% (that we know of) of illegals get food stamps, he wants to eliminate that. He wants to enforce the laws just as Obama passed them.
Dems want unlimited travel across borders. They like the EU model. They SAY that they believe that restricting travel is racist, though I think that most of them as smart enough to know better. They recognize that immigrants are almost always eager to vote socialism, which is good for their party. Dems give and promise lots of 'free' stuff and in return they vote for them; it has been a successful synergistic relationship that Trump is disrupting.

The American Indian didn't defend their borders very well.

No he doesn't. We know this because he has hired illegal immigrants as his Trump resorts.

The reality is that Trump will say whatever he thinks his base want him to say. and right now that is promising a wall. He has in no way pushed Congress to pass legislation that addressed the flaws in our immigration system. He talks about the wall, but not about the primary way illegal immigrants get into the USA (i.e. by temporary visas and air travel).

This whole "wall" thing is for the gullible.

The bottom line is that the people that love Trump so much started out "loving" him to piss off Democrats & Liberals. Then those people started believing the bulls***.

For a Reagan era Republican (aka me) its all very surreal.

Yeah, he doesn't want to limit any immigration unless it benefits him or his family, ie someone gets a good trump deal out of a foreign country or he gets cheap a** underpaid labor for his s***ty hotels.

"Illegals" aren't getting food stamps...that's the same lazy a** Mexican myth that simultaneously does nothing and yet steals everyone's yob. If their getting food stamps, they have "documents" so they aren't undocumented.

And democrats recognize stuff isn't "free" it's, just giving it to we the people rather than corporations. I mean I guess corporations are people too. Either way hobby lobby pretty much proved they were a garbage person this week... Though I might be mixing my court cases, Anyway... I'd still be fine if Hobby Lobby burned to the ground as a business or burned in hell for their evil thieving ways.

Was talking to a friend once. He is a criminal defense attorney.
He told me that because of he knee-jerk reaction, back in the 90's of "tougher on crime" promises from politicians ... many misdemeanors just don't exist any more. They have mostly been upgraded to felony.

Before this whole China Virus thing started; Trump was in process of emptying prisons of people (of color) who are doing time for minor crap. Minimum sentencing requirements need to be done away with, give judges the freedom to be fair.

I read the written comments of a federal judge who was presiding over a marijuana cultivation case. Dude was found guilty of growing more than 20 lbs. First offence. Judge said that he didn't want to, but was forced to sentence him to .... 5 years.

Lol. No... that’s trump trying to come in and take credit for a lot of the hard work and effort of others. Kim Kardashian has actually done more “work” on that than trump.

I mean yes some fourth degree felonies are a s***show and minimum sentences did more harm then good, but it is an issue being addressed at local and state levels. Trump isn’t fixing s***, if nothing else Sessions and every other federal justice dept appointment had f***ed things up in the system more.
He doesn’t get a pass over a publicity stunt. Which is what trum was doing he released two whole prisoners, in front of a ton of press, thanks to the actual work of Kim and other people.
Yes congress needs to change the actual federal marijuana law, but the JD can issue enforcement policies, and everything they have issued so far is the same tough on crime stop and frisk methods from the 90s that are proven that don’t work, but make people “feel” powerful.
