Legendary Australian guitarist and AC/DC co-founder Malcolm Young has died aged 64.

Known for the powerhouse riffs and rhythm guitar that propelled the Sydney group to superstardom, Young had been suffering from dementia for the past three years.

Malcolm was just 20 years old when he founded AC/DC in 1973 with his brother Angus Young who was then just 18.

RIP mate

Sucks. I was really saddened about him having dementia for the last few years. Really sucks. 64 these days is just too f***ing soon to go.

I wish his family the best. He gave a lot to us people and wanna send him the love right back.

RIP my fine riff jamming friend.

Dementia is a complete bastard of a disease and to cop it at any age is a terrible thing, but to cop it in your early 60's...

...and yes, 64 is way too young.

Bit of trivia...AC/DC's "Back In Black" is the 2nd biggest selling album of all time.

RIP Malcolm. One of the true greats of rock. Feel for Angus losing 2 brothers in just a few weeks.
