Link?

From what I understand Puerto Ricans do not really want to become part of the United States.

Ya well they're asking them a new question

Do you want to remain in ur current statis?

They will say no to that and then they only have three choices:
Become a state
Become Independent
and some other one
The second and third choices are the least popular there so where do you think that leaves them
with no choice.

Do you have a link? I'm sure they'd be wanting to stay a territory.

Aren't they within the sovereignty and 'citizens' of the US already? What difference would it make if Puerto Rico does become a state?

But the link doesnt mention the fact that they're changing the question which will just narrow down the choices

The difference is that rite now they don't have to pay taxes on the "benifits" they get from us that's why they don't want to become a state

I don't really understand the difference between a state and a territory or...whatever the hell Washington, DC is.
But the bottom line is, Puerto Rico will never become a state, because the American Flag would look dumb. How can we make it look descent with 51 stars? Just sneek it in the middle and hope that the only people that count them are 4 year olds at the grocery store?

They would have more governmental power.
