Today when Bush gave notice of his executive order lifting the oil drilling/exploration ban, I thought, -Well, thank god. Finally, something is happening.
About 15 minutes ago I heard the first response from a Democrat, that I'm aware of.
NOW they are going to argue about location.

Folks, I don't know how many of you have ever seen a REAL energy crisis or, how many of you have ever seen a 13% unemployment rate but, you had all better tell your elected representatives to pull their heads out of their collective rectums . . . -and you'd better do it soon.

These politicians don't give a damn how rough your life gets.
All they care about is running your life.

Those of you who aren't, had better get with the program because, -if you still don't get it, trust me, YOU WILL.

-Just sayin

The lifting of the ban is a pointless PR move.

It won't affect anything, especially the price of gas.

Maybe not now, but in time I believe it would.

And it's better than sitting around doing nothing.

i can't see the company that drills, this area (assuming that this happens)
going through all the hassle and bother and then paying millions upon millions, to do so.
and then deciding too suddenly lower their oil prices

The oil companies don't choose oil prices. Oil prices are set by the market. It's a commodity.

The idea is that increased stable supply would drive prices down. But that wouldn't happen here.

Well with prices being as high as they are is doing nothing but making the economy worse.

The prices will never drop to what they were, but I think with us supplying our own oil, they will drop a decent amount. (Hopefully)

My idea is, stop providing the Americans with all that gas and give them only a minimum and subsidy it all. You'll live cheaper and save the world

Maybe it won't help, but I don't see how it can hurt all that much unless there's a bad oil spill.
