It's almost...too quiet.

Well I nearly got lost in the back mountains of Northern New Mexico.
Cell service does not exist in some of those parts.

My trail cam took a picture of a coyote in my back yard.

Not really that surprising... we hear them all the time... at night.

If I don't talk to the other sex (whom interests me), then how can I build confidence in talking to them?

So I’m spending the night waiting in the Er to see what’s causing a fever with my husband.

This afternoon I was minding my own business, which is a habit I have developed into a science & and art form.

I had spent the morning and early afternoon taking pictures of insects (big surprise there! ), watching the American Kestrels that have recently moved into the Sycamore tree, and stumbling upon a Western Alligator Lizard.

Anyway, as I was minding my own business when my girlfriend (who was watering our apricot tree and herbs, but also loves photographing insects) called to me...

Needless to say I responded immediately.

She pointed out a pair of Darkling Beetles making whoopee... well if the truth be told, it was one Darkling Beetle making whoopee....

SPOILER ALERT! ADULT SEXUAL CONTENT TO FOLLOW!

...the other Darkling Beetle was actually dead... decapitated... most likely by some vicious little red ants that were not so far away.

YES... entomological necrophilia....





You have to hand it to god... when he created beetles he was big on the creativity part, but light on the grasping the obvious part...
